The University of Northern Iowa’s College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Data Science, starting in August 2025. The tenure home will be in either Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, as appropriate for the candidate. It is expected that the person in this position will be mentored toward directing a Data Science Hub. Initially, the responsibilities of the position will include teaching and curriculum development in data science and/or the faculty member’s home discipline (60%), and research that focuses on applications of Data Science in STEM fields that are relevant to the candidate (25%). The service load for this position (15%) will primarily work toward the development of a Data Science Hub.
