Postdoctoral Research Associate
Postdoctoral Position in High-Pressure Mineral Physics at Princeton University The Department of Geosciences at Princeton University has an opening for a postdoctoral or more senior researcher in the area of experimental mineral physics. The project will involve experiments to determine atomic-level structures, equations of state, phase transitions and other properties with applications to understanding the behavior of materials under extreme conditions and their implications for planetary interiors, including exoplanets. The project will use gas guns and high-powered lasers to dynamically compress materials to conditions of extreme pressure, temperature, and strain rate combined with diagnostics such as in situ X-ray diffraction, laser interferometry, and optical spectroscopy.
