Vibrant, multidisciplinary and innovative, the Faculty of Arts and Science is one of Université de Montréal’s largest faculties. Through its 29 departments, schools, centres and institute, it offers over 300 programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, some of which are unique in Quebec. The Department of Physics is among the most dynamic in the country, with research covering the main fields of contemporary physics conducted by internationally renowned researchers, including eleven research chairs.
The selected candidate will be a creative scientist and will contribute to the excellence of the Courtois Institute with a research program related to at least one of the following research areas: quantum materials, quantum photonics, materials for energy and the environment, discovery of molecular materials, and artificial intelligence in materials science.
The successful candidate's file could be proposed for an IVADO professorship if their research program is in line with the IVADO objectives. These positions offer improved starting conditions. The incumbents will participate in the ambitious project (IAR3) aimed at the development and adoption of robust, reasoned and responsible artificial intelligence for which IVADO obtained a Canada First Research Excellence grant.
