Albion College invites applicants for a two-year appointment in Physics at the Visting Assistant Professor level to begin in August 2024. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and be able to teach introductory and advanced physics courses with labs, including Electronics, and additional general education courses. ABD candidates will be considered. We seek candidates who have demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for dynamic teaching, committed mentorship of students, and the liberal arts.
Faculty in the Physics Department has backgrounds in biophysics, quantum physics, engineering, electronics, astronomy and planetary science. Collaborations with off-campus colleagues are encouraged; large universities such as the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University are within easy driving distance of Albion.
