Job Location: University of West Florida Pensacola Campus
Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated start date is August 2024.
Responsibilities: Teach 4 courses each during Fall and Spring terms. Teach courses in physics or astronomy across the curriculum. Mentor students in department. Serve on university, college, and department committees, participate in community engagement activities aligned to the department’s priorities and consistent with partnership of local school districts.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. A strong commitment to teaching with demonstrated ability and enthusiasm in innovative methods of teaching labs and courses is required.
Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Physics, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution; good communication skills; have recent teaching experience; have familiarity with distance learning teaching; knowledge of high impact practices and evidence-based teaching; and interest in teaching lower-division introductory physics courses.
