The Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Arts and Sciences, of Texas A&M University invites applications for a faculty member in the area of experimental high energy physics. This full-time, tenure-track position will have a nine-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2024. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of assistant professor.
We are now soliciting applications in experimental high energy physics with strong emphasis on research programs in colliders. Members of the high energy physics group are part of the George P. and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics and Astronomy. The institute features world-class programs in theoretical particle physics, astroparticle physics, and experimental high energy physics. Texas A&M University is currently participating in the CMS, DUNE, SuperCDMS, and MINER experiments. We are particularly interested in candidates who will strengthen the CMS program.
The successful candidate will assume full teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate levels, establish a vigorous, independent research program that will attract external funding, and contribute to the service mission of the department. Texas A&M has an interest in expanding its efforts in interdisciplinary sciences. Synergies of the selected candidate’s research with other programs may also be an asset.
Earned PhD in physics or related field; strong record of publication; specialization in experimental high energy physics.
