Separations Radiochemist
We have an opening for a chemist to provide support to National Ignition Facility (NIF) radiochemistry projects. Your work involves high-purity separations of radionuclides from irradiated targets and other materials and performing analysis of the resultant separated materials with various nuclear decay counting methods. This position is in the Nuclear and Radiochemistry group of the Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division.You willIndependently prepare samples for nuclear data measurements by purifying radionuclides from production matrices by ion exchange and other methodsPerform sample digestion and analysis of radionuclides produced in reactors and/or accelerators.Perform nuclear counting data reduction and calculation
