Polytechnique, in the context of the new NSERC-CRIAQ-Bombardier Industrial Research Chair on Interdisciplinary Aerothermodynamic Analysis and Design Methods for Transport Aircraft, is seeking to increase the critical mass of its aerospace engineering activities and to hire a professor in mechanical engineering, specializing in turbulence simulations. The professor will participate in the activities of this chair and will have to develop an autonomous research program in this field of expertise.

The Mechanical Engineering Department currently has 43 professors, 4 lecturers, 27 staff, and several postdoctoral researchers and research assistants. There are more than 1200 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students. The department leads both the Mechanical and the Aerospace Engineering programs. The department also contributes to the Biomedical Engineering program.
