Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Physics
Penn State Altoona invites applications for a one-year fixed-term position, subject to renewal, in Physics beginning Spring 2021. Candidate must have a Ph.D. or Masters in Physics, or a closely related discipline.
Teaching responsibilities include introductory physics courses for science, engineering and non-science majors, as well as upper division lecture/laboratory courses. Depending on the candidate's interest, responsibilities can also include significant emphasis on science outreach, laboratory development and laboratory coordination. While this is not a research position, the College encourages faculty research and provides competitive internal grants to support research. The physics department currently has a low-dimensional experimental research group, and Penn State boast of leading materials (www.mri.psu.edu) and computational (www.icds.psu.edu) research infrastructures.
