The Institute of Microengineering in the School of Engineering is soliciting applications for a faculty position at the level of tenure track Assistant Professor in Integrated Transducers.
We seek top-level applicants with research interests in the broad area of integrated and miniaturized transducers, including both theoretical and experimental aspects. Areas of general interest include fundamental principles of sensing and actuating at the interface between physical, chemical and biological parameters and electronics (front-end detection). Particular topics of interest include the transducer design, its micro / nano-fabrication and integration (mechanical, optical, biochemical, magnetic) with the electronics towards scalable (possibly wearable and implantable) smart transducer systems.
Applicants should demonstrate the highest academic excellence with a strong record of high impact publications and show interest in technology transfer and innovation. Candidates with strong academic background, but with few years of experience in industry are welcome.
As a faculty member of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will be expected to initiate an independent and creative research program and participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Internationally competitive salaries, start-up resources, and benefits are offered.
Applications should include a cover letter with a statement of motivation, curriculum vitae, list of publications and patents, and concise statements of research and teaching interests. Applicants should also provide the names and addresses of 3 to 5 referees. Applications must be uploaded in PDF format to the recruitment web site:
