Postdoctoral appointee will work in the research group of Dr. Kuljanishvili (PI), in the Department of Physics, College of Arts and Sciences at Saint Louis University, in St. Louis, MO, USA. Responsibilities of the postdoctoral appointee will be predominately to conduct interdisciplinary research in areas of applied physics, nanomaterials and nanotechnology, publish original work in peer-reviewed journals, participate in proposal preparation and be involved in an intellectual life of the group and the Department. It is expected that the postdoctoral appointee will contribute to ongoing research efforts. Postdoc will also participate in teaching/training activities in the PIs laboratory and Physics Department, as needed. The candidate is expected to interact effectively with diverse group of graduate and undergraduate students. Carrier development opportunities, such as gaining experience in university level teaching, and/or mentoring undergraduate/graduate students, will also be available.
Qualifications: PhD in experimental applied physics, materials science, nanoscience or related disciplines is required. Strong written and communication skills are essential.
Technical Skills: Physics and applications of materials and devices at micro and nanoscale, (involving CNTs, metal oxide nanowires, graphene, 2D TMDCs and other layered van der Waals materials). Experience/expertise in synthesis (such as CVD), surface characterization techniques, physical and optical methods and chemical analyses, (AFM/MFM, Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM, EDS, XRD etc.) is required. Additionally, skills in nanofabrication, SPM nanolithography, electrical measurements of micro- nano-devices, as well as instrumentations design are highly desirable.
