AIP Publishing is seeking a Conference Proceeding Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy for AIP Publishing’s Conference Proceedings program.
The Conference Proceeding Manager will:
Execute an acquisitions strategy in order to build and maintain a sales and publication pipeline through lead generation, prospecting, and networking
Manage the end to end sales process from the initial point of client contact through to contract signature and onto publication of the conference proceeding
Proactively monitor market activities and trends with a focus on the changes in the marketplace and making recommendations on improvements to the Conference Proceedings services and offerings
Manage the Assistant, Conference Proceedings through ongoing, training, development, coaching and mentoring
Provide oversight of AIP Publishing’s internal conference program partnering with ad sales, marketing, and editorial to create a robust, financially sustainable, program
A Bachelor’s degree required, a degree in a related physical science preferred
Minimum of three years of successful experience in publishing required
Experience in Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Medical (STEM) publishing is highly desired
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent teamwork, time management, and organizational skills
Highly computer literate knowledge of/experience with internet-based scientific communication
Experience with Salesforce is desirable
Must possess excellent negotiation, influential, conflict management and customer service skills
Must be willing and able to travel as needed
This role will be based in AIP Publishing’s Long Island office or NYC Satellite Office and, as such, candidates must have the right to live and work in the United States.
