Aliro is developing new software to make near-term quantum computers more usable and useful. Our tools work across hardware platforms and use state-of-the-art methods to optimize execution. We are hiring a Research Software Engineer who is passionate about solving complex problems and building new software to enable the quantum revolution. As a Research Software Engineer, you will not only find new ways to look at problems in the quantum computing space, but will also develop new techniques that may add to our commercial products. You will work closely with the rest of the research team in developing new ideas and clever approaches to some of the hardest problems facing quantum computing today.
What you’ll do:
Leverage your physics background, software engineering skills and creative thinking to develop novel quantum software solutions
Define concrete problems in an abstract and emerging area of research, come up with creative solutions, and work with the software development team to implement your ideas in our code stack
Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Physics, Math, EE, or a related field
At least 2 years of experience programming in popular programming languages (Python/Java/C++/etc.)
Ability to break down abstract problems into small iterable parts
Good communication skills
Graduate degree in CS, Physics, Math, EE, or a related field
Publications in a related field
Quantum computing experience or training, particularly in Trapped Ions technology
