The lab of Chris Weber, associate professor in the Department of Physics at Santa Clara University (SCU), seeks a postdoctoral researcher for a three-year position starting in 2020 in the SCU Inclusive Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship program. The Weber lab explores the ultrafast electronic and phononic properties of solid-state quantum materials. The postdoc’s research projects, supported through an NSF grant, will include using coherent phonons for sub-picosecond control of the Dirac bands in topological semimetals. SCU is highly ranked and committed to increasing diversity in STEM fields. The goal of the Inclusive Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship program is to support the early development of exceptional research and teaching scholars who are from historically underrepresented groups. Although this is primarily a research position, each year the postdoc will teach a 10-week undergraduate lecture (or equivalent load) in the Physics Department and will mentor undergraduates in the research lab. Prospective applicants are encouraged to direct inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org and to visit Prof. Weber’s website at https://sites.google.com/view/chrisweberlab
