The "Quantum Theory and Many-Particle Physics Group" at the Institute of Physics of the University of Rostock, Germany, led by Prof. Dieter Bauer (www.qtmps.physik.uni-rostock.de), is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the field of intense laser-matter interaction theory.
Possible working areas are: condensed matter in intense laser fields, topological effects in strong-field physics, time-dependent quantum many-body theory for driven systems, or laser-driven quasiparticles. A strong commitment to teaching and the supervision of Bachelor, Master, and PhD students is expected.
Candidates should have a PhD in Theoretical Physics, ideally in the field of intense laser-matter interactions, experience with computer simulations, and an adequate publication record.
The position is initially for three years, with the possibility of extension.
Applications should be sent until February 29, 2020 as a single PDF attachment (< 15 MB) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
About University of Rostock, Institute of Physics
The University of Rostock – Traditio et Innovatio
Tradition and innovation are the trademarks of our almost 600-year history. Education and research started in Rostock even 73 years before Columbus discovered America as the university was founded already in 1419. A lot has changed in the meantime. Such as the technical faculty founded in 1951 - the first one ever established at a classical university. Plenty of new, modern buildings, as the completely new campus for natural sciences in the district Suedstadt, represent the innovative strength and modernity of our university.
Today, with about 14,000 students and 2,933 staff members (in the medical care sector: 2,926), the University of Rostock offers fascinating perspectives into nearly all scientific fields. With the four profile lines Life, Light and Matter / Maritime Systems / Aging Science and Humanities / Knowledge – Culture – Transformation, the University of Rostock has at its disposal excellent interdisciplinary research fields in the areas of natural and technological sciences, medicine, life sciences, humanities and cultural studies. The standard set for all our actions: we want to impress with our performance.
The... Hanseatic university city of Rostock is a great place to study, research and live. The economic and scientific centre of the North-East is very enticing, with all the atmosphere of a major city in the middle of one of the most beautiful tourist areas in Germany.
