The Physics department at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor, beginning in August 2020.
A Ph.D. in experimental physics is required and teaching experience is expected; Post-doctoral experience is a plus. Although all fields of expertise will be considered, the department is particularly interested in candidates who do research in Condensed Matter Physics.
The successful candidate is expected to be enthusiastic about teaching at the undergraduate level and is anticipated to teach across the undergraduate curriculum, including advanced undergraduate courses and laboratories, as well as courses for non-physics majors. Particularly important is the ability to teach an introductory materials science course (including laboratory) and an advanced course in condensed matter physics. In addition, the candidate is expected to develop a strong experimental research program involving undergraduate students.
This as an exciting opportunity for someone to contribute to recently a revised physics curriculum and to help facilitate program growth by supporting recruitment and retention efforts.
