The Division of Division of Materials Science and Engineering with Iowa State University at the Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.
The postdoctoral research associate will conduct research focused on studies of electronic properties of quantum materials using Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy. Main focus of the research is on unconventional superconductors, strongly correlated and topological materials. Ames Laboratory operates two ARPES spectrometers utilizing He discharge lamp and ultrafast laser light sources with capability to cool samples below 2 K. Ames Laboratory provides very rich research environment in the general areas of materials discovery and synthesis. The ideal candidate is able to develop maintain and improve ARPES instrumentation, operate ARPES spectrometers and other UHV equipment, perform measurements, and analyze the data and write manuscripts.
The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences.
