The Department of Physics invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure track faculty position in Experimental Quantum Information Science (QIS), as part of a larger new UIUC multi-disciplinary focus on QIS. Physicists from all subfields of QIS—including computation, communication, materials, sensing, and fundamental and applied science—and working with various platforms (e.g., solid state and AMO) are encouraged to apply. Senior and mid-career faculty are encouraged to apply, but all qualified candidates will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, have a strong publication record, and to lead a vigorous research program at the cutting edge of the field. For full consideration, application materials must be received by December 1, 2019, though later applications will be accepted.
