The Department of Physics in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (https://www.utdallas.edu/physics/) invites applications for multiple faculty positions. The department presently has active research in the broad fields of cosmology/astrophysics, space sciences, condensed matter, biophysics, and high energy physics. The department is interested in recruiting faculty working in the following areas:
Biophysics We are particularly interested in applicants working on theoretical or computational aspects of biophysics and who can potentially interact with our current experimental groups. Preference will be given to hiring at the assistant professor level.
Quantum Experimental We are particularly interested in applicants working on experimental aspects of quantum science broadly related to quantum computing and who can potentially interact with our current experimental and theory groups. The fields to be considered include quantum materials, AMO, quantum information, or other areas related to broadly defined quantum technologies. All faculty ranks will be considered.
All faculty candidates must have completed a PhD in physics, or a closely related field, prior to beginning employment. They must also demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, service, and active scholarship.
Review of applications will begin as soon as possible and will continue until the positions are filled. Applications received by December 1, 2019 will receive priority consideration.
