We invite applications to fill out two postdoctoral positions at the Meriles group to work on applications of color centers in diamond and related systems including 2D materials. Practical experience in confocal/scanning probe microscopy, and/or spin control of color-centers is preferable but candidates with strong credentials in quantum optics or color-center theory will also be considered. Records of creative research demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary.
Our brand-new facilities provide a cutting-edge research setting in arguably one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Areas of ongoing interest in the group include spin and/or charge control of color centers in diamond for quantum information processing, the discovery and implementation of new pathways to dynamic electron or nuclear spin polarization, and the development of novel sensing techniques, with emphasis on applications to nanoscale metrology. Our most recent research effort also encompasses the investigation of 2D materials as a platform for novel single photon emitters and the generation of Bose-Einstein condensates for quantum simulation.
