The Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP) is seeking 6 postdoctoral researchers in the field of Photonics. We are looking for excellent researchers with strong interests in optics/photonics to complement our interdisciplinary team and work on projects such as:
High-sensitivity detection of terahertz radiation
High harmonic generation from nanostructured surfaces
UV frequency combs
Free-space high-dimensional quantum key distribution
Ultrafast electronic coherences in molecules using transient absorption and photoelectron imaging techniques
The postdoc will lead a collaborative project and co-supervise graduate students. Other duties will include writing and editing manuscripts and participation to outreach activities. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in physics, physical chemistry, electrical engineering or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: terahertz photonics, ultrafast optics, quantum optics, plasmonics, nanophotonics, molecular imaging, attosecond physics, high-harmonic generation, numerical simulations.

The Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP), located in Ottawa, is a collaboration initiative between the National Research Council (NRC) and the University of Ottawa launched in 2019 to promote research excellence at the highest level in the field of photonics.
