Engineering and Technology: Nuclear, Physics: Applied, Physics: Plasma
Helion Energy is hiring a scientist to join our experimental fusion operations team. The successful candidate will operate and expand a suite of neutron and gamma diagnostics for the world’s most energetic FRC fusion device.
Required Qualifications: Extensive, hands-on experience with the theoretical and electromechanical design, implementation, and operation of scintillator-based nuclear diagnostics for D-D fusion applications. Significant D-D neutron measurement, MCNP modeling and shielding design are a requirement. Facilities design, heavy ion diagnostics, related PMT electronics, nuclear spectroscopy, and/or tritium handling experience are also highly desirable.
Education and Experience: The successful candidate must have a M.S. or greater in Nuclear Engineering, Experimental Plasma Physics or in a closely related discipline. Five or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are desirable.
