Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Medical Physics: Radiation Oncology
The Houston Methodist Research Institute (HMRI) is part of a multi-hospital system whose flagship hospital is centrally located within the world’s largest medical center; the Texas Medical Center. HMRI is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College and the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University. This position enables the Postdoctoral Fellow the opportunity to actively collaborate and network with researchers in HMRI, the NCI Physical Sciences-Oncology Network, the Texas Medical Center, and other institutions. The successful candidate will join the team of Drs. Haifa Shen and Arturas Ziemys to conduct research in the fields of Physical Oncology and Immunotherapies. The successful candidate will engage in multidisciplinary research at the interface of bioinformatics, data and imaging analysis, and biology. The ideal candidate will have first-author publications in one or few fields, like computational analysis methods, bioinformatics, mathematics, imaging analysis. The experience in Python scripting is a benefit. Recent PhD graduates are encouraged to apply.
Develops research methods and performs research activities. (EF)
Documents research results and writes reports of results for presentation and/or publication in professional journals and other publications. (EF)
Assists in maintaining the functionality and operations of the Principal Investigator’s laboratory. (EF)

Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace. (EF)
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS M.D. or Ph.D required. A letter from the academic institution certifying that all student work is complete will be considered for Postdoctoral Fellow 0 only.
