Department of Physics Research Assistant Professors (Ref. 190001L8)
The Department of Physics invites applications for Research Assistant Professorships, starting as soon as possible. Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in physics; and (ii) research experience in areas in physics currently being pursued in the department, including:
- Astrophysics and Cosmology; - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics; - Biophysics and Soft Matter Physics; - Complex systems and Fluids; - Condensed Matter Physics; - Materials Science; - Quantum Information Science and Technology; and - Particle physics.
The appointees should demonstrate a strong record of research accomplishments and potential for establishing significant externally funded research programmes, and are expected to undertake light teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He/She will work closely with faculty members in the Department to enhance the existing strengths. Information about relevant research in the Department can be found at http://www.phy.cuhk.edu.hk.
Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Applications will be accepted until the posts are filled.
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
