The Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HLD) at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), a world-leading institution in high magnetic field research and technology, invites applications as Research Associate/Post-Doc (m/f/d). The employment contract is limited to two years with the possibility of further extension. The regular weekly working time will be 39 hours. The place to work is Dresden-Rossendorf.
The successful candidate will pursue vigorous research in an internationally leading user facility (www.hzdr.de/hld) and will participate in the Cluster of Excellence project Complexity and Topology in Quantum Materials (ct.qmat).
As part of our highly motivated team, the candidate will also be involved in the user program at the HLD which provides access to pulsed magnetic fields beyond 90 T as well as to a large variety of experimental techniques.
planning, realization and publication of complex experimental investigations in solid-state physics at high magnetic fields
active participation in third-party funded national and international projects
engagement in the user program at the HLD which provides access to pulsed magnetic fields beyond 90 T as well as to a large variety of experimental techniques
PhD and track record in experimental condensed matter physics
excellent hands-on experience in high-field, low-temperature, and/or high-pressure experiments
strong engagement in original research, teamwork, and good communication skills
a background in strongly correlated electron physics, the focus of the HLD in-house research program, is desired
