AIP Publishing is seeking a Senior Sales Manager to lead the efforts to sell AIP Publishing’s products and services across an assigned territory.
The Senior Sales Manager will need to:
Identify opportunities to grow revenue in the assigned territory and manage relationships with sales agents.
Drive sales growth by leading sales team to expand AIP Publishing’s customer base via the addition of new accounts, and maintenance/growth of existing accounts within assigned territory
Understand the competitive marketplace and identify opportunities that differentiate AIP Publishing offerings from its competitors
Produce timely and accurate sales reports, including updated sales pipelines; and monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
Manage relationships with third party sales agents in assigned territory
Formulate and execute the sales strategy for the assigned territory and work in concert with the Director of Global to assist with the development of the global sales strategy
Job Location and Qualifications:
This role will be based in AIP Publishing’s Long Island offices in New York and, as such, candidates must have the right to live and work in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree and seven to ten years relevant experience in a sales / marketing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience; and a minimum of two years supervisory experience
Proven track record of successful Key Account Management
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with ability to drive team to reaching goals
Track record of successfully working in cross-functional teams
Must possess excellent negotiation, influence, conflict management, and customer service skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirements
Familiarity with STEM publishing environment a requirement
Ability to read and converse in language(s) spoken in assigned territory is highly desirable
Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
