POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Department of Physics at Rowan University is seeking a Ph.D. scientist or engineer for a postdoctoral position on structural studies of small-molecule-based functional materials. Candidates should have experience in all aspects of powder diffraction, including crystal growth, data collection, reduction, and structure determination and refinement. Our new x-ray diffraction facilities have top-of-the-line instrumentation, including highly configured Panalytical Empyrean and Bruker D8 Discover systems equipped with low- and high-temperature chambers and ultrafast detectors. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of a second year based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds. The position is immediately available and applications will be considered on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is identified.
