We at the Unversity of Chicago in the James Franck Institute are interested in hiring one or two post docs for the next academic year. Possible projects involve work on highly correlated and topological materials and ultracold atomic gases. Interactions with experimental faculty are encouraged. Our condensed matter theory faculty include Peter Littlewood, K. Levin, Michael Levin, Shinsei Ryu, and Paul Wiegmann. Please have your interested students and post docs send their letters of Application, CV and 2-3 letters of recommendation toProf. K. Levin email@example.com
About University of Chicago- The James Franck Institute
The James Franck Institute (JFI) is the premier institute in the US for research at the intersection of physics, chemistry, and materials science. The JFI was established after World War II as the Institute for the Study of Metals. The present name was adopted in 1967 to reflect an emerging wider range of research activities.
Today, JFI research spans condensed matter physics; physical chemistry; synthetic materials chemistry; atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics; geophysics; and biophysics. The JFI is one of five interdisciplinary institutes of the Physical Sciences Division, and it serves as the home of the University of Chicago Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC), supported by the National Science Foundation.
AVS is a partner in the AIP Career Network, a collection of online job sites for scientists, engineers,
and computing professionals. Other partners include Physics Today, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT),
American Physical Society (APS Physics), IEEE Computer Society, and the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and Sigma Pi Sigma.
