The Department of Physics of the New York Institute of Technology, Manhattan, is currently inviting applications for a Tenure-Track positions beginning Fall Semester 2019.
Teaching Undergraduate Physics lecture and laboratory courses offered to a variety of majors including Architecture, Engineering, Life Sciences, Management, Communication Arts, and others, including but not limited to Introductory Physics, Physics for the Modern Architect, General Physics I and II, Modern Physics, Biomedical Physics.
Participate in course and program development, especially relating to STEM disciplines, and the possibility of cooperative programs with the School of Engineering.
Applicants will be expected to pursue research in their field of expertise, engage undergraduate students in research that may lead to publications, advise students and perform service to the department, university and community.
Projected starting date is Fall 2019, with primary teaching responsibilities at the Manhattan campus, and with possible occasional teaching at the Old Westbury campus.
PhD in Physics required, with an articulated research plan and a record of research activities that show promise for publication. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Evidence of excellence in teaching and willingness to develop a collaborative research program involving undergraduate students is expected.
