The Physics and Earth-Space Science Department at the University of Indianapolis seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Physics. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position to begin August 2019.
A Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering Physics or closely related field and the ability to teach at all levels of physics is required. A passion for teaching and undergraduate student research is essential, as is a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborations. Evidence of experience with the innovative classroom pedagogies is expected. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience developing and practicing teaching strategies that actively engage students both inside and outside of the classroom. Departmental priorities include creating programs that provided students strong skills and experience in theoretical, computational and experimental context. Candidates bringing evidence of a high level of competence in these areas, especially computation and experimental physics, will have preference.
