The Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQIM) at Caltech invites applications for postdoctoral scholar positions in quantum science. IQIM research spans Caltech's departments of physics, applied physics, computer science, and chemistry, and addresses a wide variety of experimental and theoretical research topics. These topics include, but are not limited to, quantum information science, quantum many-body physics in condensed matter and atomic systems, topological states of matter, quantum optics and light-matter interactions at the quantum level, quantum cavity-optomechanics, and quantum metrology. IQIM also has active visitor, seminar, and outreach programs.
Please apply online at https://applications.caltech.edu/jobs/iqim Applicants will be asked to name at least one Caltech faculty member they would like to work with. That faculty member need not be affiliated currently with IQIM.
Electronic copies of your curriculum vitae, publication list, statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation are required. Review of applications begins on November 30, 2018; applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all materials by that date. The appointment is contingent upon completion of a Ph.D.
If there are any questions during the search process, please contact us at email@example.com.
The Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQIM) at Caltech is a National Science Foundation Physics Frontiers Center. IQIM researchers study physical systems in which the weirdness of the quantum world becomes manifest on macroscopic scales. Our research programs span Quantum Information Physics, Topological Quantum Physics, and Quantum Dynamics, with faculty drawn from Caltech’s departments of physics, applied physics, and computer science. IQIM also conducts outreach programs to introduce K – 12 students and the general public to the wonders of the quantum world.
