Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Physics, Muhlenberg College
The Physics Department of Muhlenberg College invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of physics position to begin in August, 2019. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is a highly selective independent coeducational liberal arts college, committed to inclusion and diversity, located in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. Allentown is a diverse city of 116,000, and along with Bethlehem and Easton, anchors the third-largest metropolitan area in Pennsylvania. The region is home to a vibrant arts scene, a nationally unique parks system, and a rich blend of cuisine and diverse restaurants. In addition, Allentown is within close proximity to both New York City and Philadelphia.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field conferred no later than June, 2019. Excellence in teaching, the ability to excite and inspire students, and commitment to a research program that includes undergraduates at all levels are primary requirements. All experimental areas of physics will be considered but preference will be given to candidates who will establish an on-site research program.
