Mathematical & Physical Sciences (Middletown Campus): Assistant Professor: tenure-track position in physics to teach, advise students, maintain research agenda and provide service to the institution. Position begins August 2019. Miami-Middletown is an open admission regional campus of a highly regarded public university. Associate and bachelor degrees in select areas are offered, as well as the first two years of most majors offered on the main campus.
Faculty in the department teach associated laboratory courses as well as courses for non-science majors.
Require: Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field by date of appointment.
Consideration may be given to candidates in research areas that complement ongoing research in optics, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, plasma physics, computational physics, and physics education; experience teaching in a studio physics format or using other active learning strategies; an interest in developing teaching-laboratory experiments or a willingness to teach with online or hybrid formats.
