Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.
This Postdoctoral Research Associate opportunity will involve analytical and numerical micromagnetic modeling. The project involves close collaboration with the experimental characterization group. The position includes and expects collaboration with both theoretical and experimental team members, while at the same time encourages independent investigations. Publication of results in peer-reviewed journals is expected.
Verbal and written communication skills are necessary for successful collaboration within the team environment.
Required Qualifications: 1) Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date. 2) Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Theoretical Materials Science, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Demonstrated expertise on analytical micromagnetic modeling. 2) Demonstrated research experience and excellent knowledge on magnetic Skyrmion. 3) Demonstrated expertise and experience on micromagnetics, atomic spin dynamics, and/or Monte Carlo methods. 4) Proficiency in scientific programming, scripting, and computing in the UNIX environment.
