: We are seeking a Posdoc to aid in the development of atomic physics based devices, namely an optical atomic clock and an atom interferometer\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Work with a team of physicists and engineers to successfully advance the science of atomic sensing and timing technologies so they can be employed as practical devices by overcoming challenges in physics and engineering\.+ Support and advance the development of an atomic clock or atom interferometer by aligning optical systems, building experimental apparatus, developing computer\-based experimental control and data acquisition system, collecting and analyzing experimental data, and developing manuscripts for peer\-reviewed publication\.+ Work with staff to develop emerging areas in atomic clocks, optically pumped magnetometers, and other applications of atomic physics\. Required: + A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field+ Experience with most of the following: atomic physics, diode laser systems, optics, optical alignment, mechanical design, computer control of experiments, and automated data acquisition systems\.+ Exemplary academic record\. Desired: + Excellent communication skills, written and oral\.+ Excellent collaboration skills for working in a team environment\.+ Experience with trapped ion, alkali hot\-vapor, or cold\-atom atomic physics experiments\.+ Experience with laser and optical systems\.+ Experience with mechanical design, Solidworks, and machine tools \(lathe, mill, drill press, etc\.\)\.+ Experience with Mathematica, Matlab, and/or LabView\.+ Experience with data acquisition, signal processing, and data analysis\.+ Track record of successful research and development in atomic physics\.
