Materials physics / quantum applications / spintronics and magnonics of non-conventional materials
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Utah invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics in the areas of materials physics, quantum applications, or spintronics and magnonics of non-conventional materials. The appointment may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level; rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience. Strong candidates who have a solid track record in materials development and/or characterization using electronic, optical, opto-electronic, magneto-optoelectronic, or magnetic resonance based methods are especially invited to apply. Synergy with local experimental Condensed Matter Physics research groups at the Department of Physics and Astronomy will be given preference. The appointment will begin July 2019. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in physics or a related field is required. Candidates must have an outstanding research record for their experience level and show promise of teaching effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
