: We are seeking a Computer Science Researcher to develop graph and data analysis algorithms with applications to computational science to meet the challenges posed by next\-generation high\-performance computing hardware\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Conduct creative research and software development in high\-performance graph and data analysis algorithms for physics\-based and data\-centric applications+ Execute and optimize your software on state\-of\-the\-art testbed computers and supercomputers at Sandia and other DOE facilities+ Collaborate with engineers, mathematicians and scientists across diverse disciplines+ Publish in journals and conferences, and present at national and international venues+ Help us define the future of computing Required: + PhD in a discipline with computer science, mathematics, or a related engineering or science emphasis; or Bachelor's and Master's in a related discipline plus 2 years' relevant experience+ Research experience in graph algorithms, data analysis, or sparse linear algebra+ Experience with parallel programming+ Technical publications in HPC conferences and journals, and/or released software used by applications Desired: + Communication skills appropriate for participating in multi\-disciplinary teams of mathematicians, engineers and computer scientists+ Experience working in collaborative software teams+ Experience with object\-oriented programming in C\+\++ Experience running and optimizing software on parallel systems Department Description: The Center for Computing Research \(CCR\) at Sandia crafts technology and solutions for many of our nation's most demanding national security challenges\. As part of CCR, the Scalable Algorithms Department is focused on developing new algorithms and approaches to address the challenges of next\-generation computing hardware\. The department intends to use its expertise in applied mathematics and computational science to address these challenges and help define the future of computing\.
