PRIMARY DUTY: Applicant should be highly committed to teach undergraduates and motivated to perform undergraduate research. Candidate must be prepared to teach introductory and advanced level physics courses.
Teach 24-26 credits per year with seven weekly office hours
Teach and develop course material pertinent to teaching load including electronic materials for use in online courses
Advise undergraduate students
Serve the department and the university on committees as assigned
Meet with students outside of class time for additional instruction as appropriate
Establish undergraduate / graduate research, if hired as Assistant Professor
Perform other duties as assigned by the Department

Experience: Teaching experience with favorable evaluations. Theoretical background preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in an air-conditioned office during the 9-month school term
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete classroom functions and lift up to 20 pounds

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Natural Sciences is composed of 28 full time faculty in the disciplines of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. The department offers an interdisciplinary program in Nanoscale Science, numerous preprofessional programs, a variety of undergraduate programs designed to prepare students for scientific careers or graduate school, and master’s programs in Biology and Science Education.
