: The Microsystems Integration Department seeks an R&D Engineer to support research, development, and production delivery of microelectronics packaging solutions for national security\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Lead research and development projects, such as the development of packaging solutions for hybrid MEMS/IC systems, electro\-optic focal plane arrays, CMOS, novel physics experiments, and additive manufacturing for electronics packaging\.+ Provide technical consultation for production activities including an internal production line and activities at external vendors\.+ Develop the specifications for and commission new equipment\.+ Collaborate with external packaging vendors on behalf of the department\.+ Serve as a resource for process improvement, troubleshooting, and new capability development\. Required: + Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related STEM field plus five years of experience\. Desired: + Ph\.D\. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related STEM field, plus two or more years of experience\.+ Academic or professional experience in the area of microelectronics packaging \(e\.g\., Advanced Packaging R&D for ICs, MEMS, and Heterogeneous Integration though high\-rigor production packaging delivery\)\.+ Ability to conceive and propose ideas for process improvement, troubleshooting, and new capability development\.+ Experience managing projects, including cost, schedule, and performance\.+ Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, explain, and educate\.+ Strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to collaborate in a multi\-disciplinary team environment\.+ Active DOE or DOD security clearance\.
