: We are seeking exceptional candidates in an R&D, Laboratory Support Technologist role to join a team pursuing world leading research in silicon nanoelectronics for quantum information science\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Assist with the design of experiments on nanofabricated electronics devices \(e\.g\., transistor like devices\);+ Design, procure equipment, and develop laboratory test apparatuses \(e\.g\., circuits and cryogenic systems\) for testing nanoelectronics;+ Take data and perform analyses on nanoelectronic devices;+ Perform light electrical or mechanical fabrication tasks for testing nanoelectronics;+ Assist with or perform specific processing steps in the fabrication of nanoelectronic devices;+ Perform laboratory maintenance functions and general operations; and+ Support the development of safe laboratory functions including assessing risks and developing engineered controls\. Required: + Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field;+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance\. Department Description: The Quantum Information Sciences Department of Sandia's Information Systems Analysis Center is responsible for fundamental research and development in quantum information sciences \(QIS\) as well as programmatic functions for Sandia's overall QIS program\. Our Department performs fundamental science and technology development for Sandia's research projects on ion traps, ion qubits, silicon nanostructure qubits, and adiabatic quantum architectures\. We provide strategic planning, program management and program assurance support to the Sandia\-wide QIS program\. Our work supports both internally funded projects and external customers\. The Sandia National Labs quantum information science and technology \(QIST\) group is advancing the use of MOS quantum dots and single donors for quantum bits \(qubits\)\. Recent work has demonstrated the coherent coupling of these two different qubit systems\. Qubits are fabricated using silicon processing and measured using low\-noise, high\-bandwidth techniques at temperatures below 1 Kelvin\. The group is, by necessity, multi\-disciplinary integrating: fab, device characterization, device design, cryogenic electrical control & measurement, numeric analysis and supporting cryogenic circuit design\.
