Position Overview
The EHS Manager will lead environmental health and safety initiatives within our organization, focusing on compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct audits and inspections to evaluate environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead investigations related to environmental incidents and develop corrective action plans.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies regarding environmental compliance and reporting requirements.
- Manage hazardous waste, wastewater discharge, and air quality standards to minimize environmental impact.
- Oversee spill prevention measures and ensure readiness for emergency response situations.
- Provide training and resources to staff on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with corporate teams to integrate environmental considerations into operational processes.
- Maintain professional affiliations and stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations including TPDES, Title 5, and TECQ.
- Experience with environmental audits, investigations, and program development.
- Proven track record in managing compliance and improving environmental performance.
- Excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Self-starter with initiative to drive environmental programs and engage teams effectively.
- Relevant experience in power plant or industrial facility environments is preferred.
