Machining Engineer - NC Programmer
Location: Columbus, GA - On-site
Key Responsibilities:
1. NC Program Development:
Analyze part prints, manufacturing operation sheets, and NX part models to develop and modify Numerical Control (NC) programs for various 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis machine tools.
Utilize NX CAD/CAM graphical system and Turbosoft + airfoil programming software for program development.
2. Technical Expertise:
Provide machining and development teams with expertise on potential machining challenges and their impact on surface properties.
3. Program Refinement:
Independently develop and refine NC programs, showcasing proficiency and initiative in program optimization.
4. Process Optimization:5. Collaboration and Optimization:
Determine optimal feeds, speeds, and tool selection for a range of milling applications.
Collaborate with machine operators and Manufacturing Engineers to optimize machining processes and enhance machine tool capabilities.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or related industrial fields; or a master's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles.
5 or more years of experience in programming 2 - 5 axis machine tools using Unigraphics and Vericut CAD/CAM software systems.
Proficiency in CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) languages, machining techniques, and machine tool capabilities for effective program design.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including experience with Kaizen events or involvement in continuous improvement programs (ACE, 6S, etc.).
