Monitors stay times for workers in High Radiation Areas\. Performs radiological surveys of personnel, personal items and equipment leaving radiological Areas\. Maintains radiological control technologist qualifications\. Performs radiological air monitoring\. Demonstrated knowledge in the field of health physics or related fields, such as mathematics, physics, nuclear engineering, biology, or chemistry\. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with radiation protection and monitoring\. Knowledge of common and unique work hazards in radiological facilities\. Knowledge and ability to apply requirements specified in 10CFR835 or 10CFR20\. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing\. Skill with operating as a member of a team with other RCTs, engineers, scientists, and technologists in mission and mission support areas\. Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications\. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs\. of monitoring and associated equipment on a daily basis Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather, confined spaces, and elevated surfaces\. Ability to work around potential industrial hazards such as chemical, electrical, mechanical, biological, laser, noise, and ergonomic\. Ability to pass routine testing of DOE Core qualifications material with a grade of 80% or higher\. The ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position while wearing respiratory protection\. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to radiation protection\. This position will require frequent travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico during the first year of hire for training\.
